In our Country, millions of Students dream to become Engineer. Students across the Country appear in various Entrance Exams to get Admission in various reputed Engineering Colleges. IIT-JEE, the Entrance Exam of IITs, has its own reputation, recognition & craze among the aspirants of Engineering. From 2013, the HRD Ministry of India has revised the procedure of Entrance Exams for IITs. According to this new procedure, IIT-JEE and AIEEE are merged into an examination called Joint Entrance Examination to be held in two stages, namely JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced).
All Students seeking admission to the IITs or NITs will have to appear in JEE (Main). Top 1.5 lakh Students of JEE (Main) including all reserved categories will qualify to appear for the JEE (Advanced). Admission to the IITs will be based on the Student’s performance in the JEE (Advanced). For admission into National Institutes of Technology (NITs), the merit list will be prepared by giving 40% weightage to Class XII Board marks and 60% weightage to the performance in JEE (Main). On the other hand Admission into Anna University and Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges is on the basis of Class XII Board Exam Marks only.
