Preparation for IIT-JEE requires rigorous hard-work as competition for the limited seats at the prestigious IITs is growing rapidly every year. In fact, nowadays, students start preparing as early as in class VIII / IX itself. But to succeed in IIT-JEE, one has to not only study hard but have timely and accurate assessment of their preparation to get their desired result. Although IIT-JEE aspirants take regular tests on their own or at their respective institutes which give them a fair idea about their performance, but this feedback might not be very accurate as it is judged among a limited group of students. As IIT-JEE is a test of relative performance, students must know where they stand at a National level, which is only possible through a standardized All-India level exam. This feedback, if given at the right stage when students have adequate time to overcome their weaknesses and build on their strengths, can immensely help them to further consolidate their preparation and get Top Ranks in IIT-JEE. To fulfill this need of the IIT-JEE aspirants, FIITJEE had constituted the FIITJEE Talent Support Exam in 2006. FIITJEE Talent Support Exam got tremendous support from students all over India with more than 15,000 serious aspirants appeared for the exam in the year 2006 as well as in 2007.
