Crash Course for NTSE Selection Year, 2012-13

The recent announcement by NCERT to change the eligibility to appear in National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) now allows students who are currently in class X to compete in this exam. This late announcement throws a challenge for the students to outperform in this exam with limited time available for its preparation. Program Focus & Objectives

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is the most prestigious Scholarship Exam for school studying students. This year, students of class X can appear in this exam and win scholarships for their entire Academic Career.
This program helps the student in understanding the basics of Science & Mathematics. Absolute clarity of concepts helps in increasing the IQ & reasoning ability and developing a strong foundation that is so essential for success in the career.
What is NTSE?
The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a National Level scholarship program in India to identify and nurture talented students. It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship for the entire Academic Career. This year Students studying in Class X are eligible to appear for the selection process. As it is organized by an official body (NCERT), it is widely regarded as the most prestigious examination at high school level in India. For more details of NTSE, students can visit www.ncert.nic.in.
There is a two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage - I, selection will be done by States/UTs through the written examination. Each State/Union Territory has been allotted a quota to recommend a specific number of candidates for the Stage - II examination, the details of which are available on NCERT website (www.ncert.nic.in). Students who qualify Stage - I will be eligible to appear for Stage - II examination conducted by NCERT.
Why should I appear in NTSE?
NTSE is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarship exams in India. An NTSE scholar commands tremendous respect in the society. Around 1000 NTSE Scholars are finally awarded scholarships based on Stage – II.
It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For
the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level.
For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to
Post Graduation.

- Entire course will be covered in 2 Phases with National Phase Tests..
- Subject wise packages. Additional problems will be supplemented wherever necessary. Students should not require any additional books etc.

- Mock NTSE Test Papers.
- Students also gain important exam practice through quizzes, phase tests & mock tests (conducted in a simulated environment giving the students a ‘feel’ of the real exam) that can help them improve their examination temperament - a necessary element for success in any competitive exam.

Classes will be held for about 3-4 days in a week from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm
v Weekend Option v
Classes will be held on Saturday from 4:00 pm to 7:45 pm and Sunday from about
9:30 am to 4:00 pm. However during vacation classes can be held on weekdays also. |

Exam Schedule & Pattern:
Objective Paper : There will be two sections (i) SAT (90 Minutes) which will consist of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Social Science and (ii) MAT (90 Minutes) which will consist of questions of Mental Ability with verbal, non-verbal reasoning.
Exam Timing: 9:30 am - 1:00 pm.
Note: Actual duration for answering Paper will be 3 hours. First 30 minutes will be provided for filling up the information on the answer OMR sheet and for reading the examination instructions. How to Register for Admission Test:
Apply on prescribed Application form (collect from nearest FIITJEE centre) with two passport size colour photographs, along with a Demand Draft / Pay Oder of the Registration Fee of Rs.200/- (inclusive of Service Tax). Admission Test registration fee can also be paid in cash at FIITJEE office. You can also do online registration by Logging on to our online registration portal www.fiitjeeonline.in.
